BASIC FUNCTIONS AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Machine Operator is to produce product within their area of assigned responsibility according to all Quality and Safety Policies and Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Machine Operator include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating applicable popcorn packaging / printing equipment such as gearboxes, photoeyes, conveyors, wrappers, cartoners and case packers.

- Performing required Quality Checks in a timely manner to ensure product meets all safety and quality standards.

- Following all company policies and procedures including safety, environmental and housekeeping requirements.

- Following the direction of the Team Leader as determined.
- Working in a team environment with integrity and commitment to the established processes and procedures and treat everyone with respect.

 

WORK PERFORMED

The job duties of the Machine Operator include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Operates equipment as trained and required per the SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Operates equipment within a team environment with rotation on equipment as required
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance and repair activities as required to fix or improve integrity and functionality of equipment
- Follow Quality Standards as indicated in Weavernet and perform all required quality checks
- Produce products to required specifications
- Through required methods, track, monitor and improve efficiency, scrap rates and progress of safety and quality standards.
- Perform Lockout Tagout whenever service, maintenance, or repair (SMR) will be performed
- Adhere to the policies and practices identified in the Associate Handbook, Weavernet, Quality system, etc.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY

The Machine Operator has the authority to shut down the line, with the discretion of the Line Leader, if they see anything that could potentially cause a quality or safety issue.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED

Education – minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience – minimum of 1-3 years

The Machine Operator must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from shoulder to waist or floor to shoulder as frequently as once every 15 minutes over a distance of up to 40 feet; walk up and down steps at frequent intervals; stand on concrete floor for 12 hours.
