Reporting directly to the Direct Purchasing Manager, your role will be to service Weaver Popcorn Manufacturing, Inc. by analyzing inventory levels, production schedules and sales forecasts to understand material demand as well as coordinate with vendors to maintain adequate supply and optimum inventory levels, enabling a competitive Supply Chain advantage.
As Inventory Control Specialist, your primary responsibilities in this salaried role would include, but not be limited to, the following:
o Purchase materials for the company and provide purchase orders to vendors.
o Manage and maintain optimum materials inventory, balancing cost with production risk.
o Initiate clear communication with vendors and production departments.
o Ensure accurate transaction entries.
o Anticipate production needs.
o Prioritize daily departmental needs, and pivot quickly when necessary.
o Resolve price and quantity discrepancies on vendor invoices.
o Maintain procurement data such as lead-time, new items, and vendor contact information.
o Maintain proper documentation of quotes, purchase orders, and receipts.
o Comply with all safety procedures, quality policies and GMPs.
o Carry oneself with a positive attitude of service.
o Handle assigned individual tasks with a team mentality.
Your primary duties would include the following:
o Analyze various reports (shortage/overage, forecast and inventory related reports) to determine material requirements for production.
o Enter purchase orders and communicate to vendor.
o Collaborate with Purchasing Manager, Sales, Customer Supply Chain, and Scheduling to understand current material demand and future trend as well as resolve material issues.
o Initiate and respond to emails and phone calls from vendors promptly.
o Provide forecasts, production schedules or material trends to vendors to aid in material planning.
o Coordinate with vendors to adjust material quantities or delivery dates.
o Analyze and maintain procurement data, including purchase orders, quotations, lead-times, and vendor contact information.
o Purchase the highest quality goods/materials at the least possible cost and in correct quantities.
o Carry out the preparation of purchase orders, review requisitions for goods, and solicit bid proposals as needed.
o Collaborate with Accounts Payable and vendor to ensure invoices have the correct information (pricing, quantity, etc.) to avoid payment interruption.
o Report incoming and past due material inbounds to the company management to ensure no supply or production interruption.
o Collaborate with Purchasing Manager, Logistics Manager and Financial Services to ensure system reflects correct material and freight cost.
o Accurately report all project milestones to top management
o Other duties as assigned.
o Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
o 1 - 2 years of Inventory Management or Control Experience.
o Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
o Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formula construction, etc.)
o Ability to compile information and make data-driven decisions.
o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to work under pressure.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to effectively multi-task.
o AS400 system knowledge
o Manufacturing industry experience
